Opéra garnier

The Opéra Garnier is one of the most illustrious buildings in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Listed as a historic monument since 1923, it bears the name of its builder, Charles Garnier, who was commissioned by Napoleon III in 1861. Now admired for its architectural and decorative wealth, it hosts operas, ballets, concerts and opera workshops.

The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the Butte Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur Basilica. The highest point of the capital and a former independent French commune, Montmartre is a district that has remained apart. Rue des martyrs

Today, rue des Martyrs is a lively street running through the 9th and 18th arrondissements of Paris. Marked by the Parisian nightlife districts of Pigalle and Abbesses, rue des Martyrs is home to a multitude of small eateries and fashion boutiques, as well as cabarets and theatres. The street has retained its old-world charm thanks to its many typically Parisian cafés and bars.

The Moulin Rouge, a Parisian cabaret famous for its legendary French Cancan, has been presenting world-famous shows for 110 years. Nightlife

The 9th arrondissement is home to the Bus Palladium and its Rock&Roll club, the former Chez Moune cabaret with its electric, hip and cutting-edge programme, and the former Fox Club hostess bar, sometimes reserved for women only.

Les Folies Bergères

Inaugurated in 1869, the Folies Bergères theatre is one of the most famous theatres in Paris. The building, a listed historic monument, hosts an eclectic programme of musicals, concerts and plays.

The oldest public auction house in the world, Hôtel Drouot is a veritable ephemeral museum. Paintings, furniture and other objets d’art attract all the world’s specialists and connoisseurs to the hotel’s 20 auction rooms. Every day, from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, some people are immersed in the magic of auctions, while others simply stroll past the showcases.
